The Team

Obtaining Assistive Technology funding requires involvement by many people and organizations and is a team effort. You are the team leader, and your child's best advocate! Knowing what your role is and who to turn to throughout the funding process will assist in getting your Standing Dani® dynamic stander paid for by your funding source.

Various team members, (which can include your child's medical team, school, funding sources, and other support teams) will be involved in getting approvals, and interacting with DavisMade staff and related service professionals to determine the medical, educational and functional necessity of the Standing Dani® dynamic stander, for example:

  • You, your child's physician, and therapist (PT/OT/SLP) or other qualified evaluator will all be involved in the initial assessment.
  • Parents participate in the selection of the Standing Dani® dynamic stander and the ongoing assessment associated with your child's use of the Standing Dani® dynamic stander.
  • Your physician will provide any medical restrictions or other pertinent information and will typically write a prescription for the Standing Dani® dynamic stander and verify its medical necessity.
  • Your child's therapist(s) or other credentialed evaluator who assesses the child for the need for Assistive Technology, will make recommendations for the Standing Dani® dynamic stander, review options, trial equipment and write, or assist in writing, the letter of medical necessity.

Once your Standing Dani® dynamic stander is acquired, your child's therapists or other credentialed evaluators will work closely with DavisMade to create a plan that ensures your child is getting the most benefit possible with the use of his/her Standing Dani® dynamic stander!
