Will my insurance cover the cost?

You should review your insurance policy regarding ‘durable medical equipment’.  Once you have read through that information, you, your heath care provider and DavisMade can determine the best approach to your insurance company in determining approval or denial of reimbursement.  We have become expert in assisting clients with reimbursement solutions.  To date we have assisted over 1000 families in obtaining funding for a Standing Dani for their child.

How long will it take to receive a Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand once I have been approved for purchase?

Once funding has been approved, the average length of time to build a Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand is 1-4 weeks.   Powered units take 4-6 weeks.

We work with a Physical Therapist, what steps do they take in this process?

The physical therapist has to write the Letter of Medical Necessity.  In some cases, the physical therapist may be able to provide additional resource information such as alternative funding resources, research on dynamic wheelstands in support of positive outcomes and non-profit associations and organizations who may be of valuable assistance to you in the process.

How can I check the status of the reimbursement paperwork process?  Is there anything I can do to keep the process moving as quickly as possible?

Our trained staff at DavisMade, Inc. will assist you as often as necessary in the process.  We recommend you identify with one staff member at your insurance company or funding source to establish a personal relationship that will be to your advantage in getting the information you need directly.  The key to a successful process begins with the basic information you generally must have for submission for reimbursement; A Prescription and Letter of Medical Necessity! Once the claim has been filed, or in cases of appeal, the family who regularly contacts the insurance company or funding source, often produces a quicker response.

Yes. Our trained experts will assist you in determining the best configuration to accommodate companion medical equipment use while in the Standing Dani®.

Does the Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand tilt in space?

Yes the Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand uses a very unique hydraulic system to easily move the child from a nearly vertical position to that of a horizontal position.  When horizontal the child is within arm's reach of the floor.  Therapists use this position to address upper body strength exercises.

Is there a Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand for adults?

Not at this time.

Is the Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand portable?

Yes. We have taken great care to design all standers whether powered or manual to easily break down to the most easily handled components AND to ensure that the assembly and disassembly process is as easy as possible.  click here for a video

Yes the Standing Dani® dynamic wheelstand can be transported on a bus.  It is best to check your local and state rules regarding transportation of children in such devices before any transportation takes place.  Many states and localities have laws regarding a child in an assistive device as well as what constitutes sitting while traveling on a school bus.

Standard colors are fuchsia, chameleon (a purple-blue), and royal blue.  Custom colors are neon lime green, neon red/orange, black, navy blue, fire engine red, and sky blue.  Always check with your DavisMade representative or call us to make sure of the latest list of colors available.
